    Andrew & Sara

Andrew and Sara’s wedding was held in the tiny town of Bethungra where they run The Shirley Hotel B&B. They’ve put a lot of work into this place and it would have been a no brainer to hold their wedding there in the superb grounds. Sara’s immaculate attention to detail spanned every aspect of this wedding which meant that the day itself was reserved for partying – which they did, with great gusto!

Thank you for having me, Andrew and Sara, you built some beautiful memories on this day that I am glad to have witnessed!

    Brad & Ellen

I hardly know what to write of Brad and Ellen’s wedding day except for the great privilege I felt at having a window into their lives on this day. It was also the first time I’ve visited The Old Shirely Hotel in Bethungra, which was just an amazing venue which I highly recommend, to stay in and to party in!

We really raced to catch the last of the late Autumn light on this day. The colours were incredible as we drove through the country in Brad’s dad’s beautiful vintage Jaguar (a first for me!). What a great treat!

Thanks for having me guys, you were wonderful to photograph. xx

  • Photography Basics Workshop

    Photography Basics Workshop

As many good things do, I began running these workshops entirely unexpectedly! Friends asked me to run one…many unconnected friends…and I realised there was a need! “Well, if people want it and I can provide it, why not do it!” So, it kind of just…happened.

Now I’m rolling with it and it’s rolling well with me. I really LOVE teaching this course! And while I will continually refine it, I really can recommend it as a step up into your own photography. It’s relaxed, we work through our cameras step by step, we start taking photos and, hopefully, by the end you’ve got a kick start in your photography endeavours.

I also have several ‘interested persons’ on an informal kind of waiting list, so if you’d like to be contacted when I run a third course then please let me know so that I can contact you directly and you won’t have to miss out (there are no obligations of course).

Here are some pics from the course I ran a couple of weekends ago, some by me, some by the participants.

  • Fog on the road back to Young

I am enjoying Winter fogs and frosts, which are too few and far between.  Back in Young yet again. Soooo ready to just finish this bus so we can get going.

  • Chinamans Dam

Chinamans Dam in Young, NSW is a quietly glowing sapphire on the Southern outskirts of the town.  It is very close to where we are living at the moment.

As hubby is back in Canberra for the weekend the kids and I took a lazy Saturday morning picnic at the dam, fed the ducks, took some photos and paddled in the water.

Over the bridge into the heart of the garden is where the real magic happens. Bridges, waterfalls, boulders, they even managed a Japanesey type balancing rock structure in the middle of their little pond.ImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImage

Winding paths lead to many intricate surprises.  The garden is compact, but cleverly laid out, some leading to the tops of small waterfalls, others right to the waters edge, there are stone seats all along the way, and Miss Imp and Master Dashing were constantly delighted.ImageImage

I really appreciated the layering of a variety of textures of leaf, bark, berries. Garden design is very similar to interior design (though, not so trendy), colour, texture, layout, it all plays a part.ImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImage
