    Andrew & Sara

Andrew and Sara’s wedding was held in the tiny town of Bethungra where they run The Shirley Hotel B&B. They’ve put a lot of work into this place and it would have been a no brainer to hold their wedding there in the superb grounds. Sara’s immaculate attention to detail spanned every aspect of this wedding which meant that the day itself was reserved for partying – which they did, with great gusto!

Thank you for having me, Andrew and Sara, you built some beautiful memories on this day that I am glad to have witnessed!

    The Van Daveys

I love this family. I met Hayley six years ago on top of Mt Panorama in Bathurst when she was registering downhill longboarders, including my hubby and hers, for the ASRA downhill longboarding race down the mountain. They were crazy days. She was so cool, had the best looking mohawk I’d ever seen on anyone ever and had the biggest smile I’ve ever seen. Six month old Sophia decided Hayley’s jade necklace was her new best toy and was pretty much glued to her whenever she was around, so we became friends and I’m so glad we’ve managed to stay in touch and I’ve been able to watch her and Owen marry and become really awesome parents to two of the most vibrant kids around (that Juniper is a HOOT!). Yes, I love this family and I loved photographing them A LOT! Can’t wait for the next time!

Hayley is also a fabulous artist running under the name Haeli Van Veen, do check out her work. I can’t wait to have the space and the cash to buy one of her beasts down the track.

    Brad & Ellen

I hardly know what to write of Brad and Ellen’s wedding day except for the great privilege I felt at having a window into their lives on this day. It was also the first time I’ve visited The Old Shirely Hotel in Bethungra, which was just an amazing venue which I highly recommend, to stay in and to party in!

We really raced to catch the last of the late Autumn light on this day. The colours were incredible as we drove through the country in Brad’s dad’s beautiful vintage Jaguar (a first for me!). What a great treat!

Thanks for having me guys, you were wonderful to photograph. xx

Winter Wedding at Gold Creek Station

Oh. I had the greatest time shooting Rob & Amelia’s wedding last month. They were both so relaxed and welcoming…and gorgeous…that it made my job just so much the easier.

I also was so thrilled to shoot a winter wedding. Why aren’t there more winter weddings in Aus? Our winters are so mild and our summers so hot you would think the usual wedding season trend would be reversed. Rob & Amelia got the most brilliant day for their wedding, with that bright, bold winter sun hanging low in the sky. Wonderful!

After the whirl of the ceremony, greeting guests and family photos, when we were able to settle in at Gold Creek Station for their photo shoot just before the sun went down, I was struck by how easily they just slipped into chatting together, from the get go it was just chat chat chat the whole time, it was clear they were great friends. It was lovely and obvious to me how well they sat with each other and how much they liked to be together. Being in the presence of a couple like that is a wonderful blessing. What a treat. Sadly we ran out of light pretty quickly, though maybe they were happy about that, I could’ve had them running around for all my shots til nightfall…well…I did, actually.

Thank you, Rob & Amelia, for allowing me to photograph your day, it was a wonderful privilege.
